High cholesterol doesn't predict heart disease, stroke or heart attack risk.
And blood glucose tests and AC1 tests don't predict insulin sensitivity, either.
So what gives?
It turns out, C-reactive protein is what we’re looking for for chronic inflammation, and THAT is what is the indicator for increased heart attack and stroke risk.
In addition, having HIGH CHOLESTEROL, depending on WHERE AND HOW you get it, is an INDICATOR OF HEALTH. yes! HEALTH!
As usual, the medical industry has everything upside-down.
It takes more refinement than a general, uncontextual blood test.
Circumstances matter.
And, the same is true for blood glucose and AC1 tests for pre-diabetes and diabetes tests.
Turns out, if you eat ZERO sugar, your body dumps its pre-made insulin stores. So when it DOES get sugar, it takes longer to respond because it has to MAKE some insulin to counteract the sugar.
When you have a lifestyle of zero carb, no sugar, you don’t need the insulin. So your body doesn’t bother making it, unless it’s needed.
And so long as you don’t go crazy and eat sugar when you’re zero carb, you won’t be harming your body. At all.
Matter of fact, by reducing insulin in the body, we reduce harm to the organs. Insulin ATTACKS organs, and even disrupts ovarian hormone communication for monthly menses, creating PCOS.
So, if a person who has been zero carb for months goes to get a blood glucose test, it’ll show that that person FAILED. Miserably. No. What it measures is how fast your body responds to sugar, and if it doesn’t have insulin stores, it won’t be super fast. BECAUSE it doesn’t NEED to be. The person’s diet doesn’t require insulin EVER. lol
The POINT of a glucose test is supposed to be to test for your insulin sensitivity. A simple insulin level test, given the context of a ZERO carb person, will tell you if they’re insulin sensitive. If it’s low, their body is way more sensitive to insulin!
Check out this interesting article by a carnivore doctor, who monitors closely his labs in context.
The truth is, scientific measurements are CONTEXTUAL.
And it MATTERS.
If i were to ask you, is it safe to run a red light? You would likely say, No!
But what if i told you, the red light is part of a game called red light green light, and it’s indoors, played in a safe space, and we use a light instead of words. Is it safe now? YES. of COURSE.
so are all red lights unsafe to run?
NO. lol
See what i mean by CONTEXT?
So, have yourself a nice cuppa tea, and check this article out. It’ll help you set the CONTEXT for these blood tests, and highlights why you must have properly educated, and real doctors, read your tests, and understand your diet, and your well being and how they go hand in hand.
